Why We're Doing This

Too many of us are introduced to womb wellness through pain, diagnosis, pregnancy complications or crisis. We want a different beginning. We want girls growing up knowing their bodies. We want them learning how to nourish themselves, speak up when something doesn’t feel right and understand that severe or disruptive period pain should not simply be accepted as something they have to live with. And we want women to have the tools and knowledge to reconnect with their wombs long before there is a crisis.

Why This Matters

The disparities are real.

More than 80% of Black women are estimated to develop uterine fibroids by age 50.

Period pain and hysterectomies are at an all time high.

We don’t accept these numbers as the future we have to pass down.

More Than a Piece of Fabric

At the center of this project is our 100% cotton womb wrap. But ultimately, it is not just a piece of fabric.

The real work is what the wrap represents.

Womb wrapping is a traditional wellness practice that can offer gentle warmth, comfort and support around the womb, belly, hips and lower back. It may support relaxation, menstrual comfort, posture and body awareness while creating an intentional moment to slow down, rest and reconnect with your body.

Womb wrapping is for women and girls across generations, whether you have just begun your period, are moving through your reproductive years, are postpartum, or are entering a new season of womanhood.

It represents a reminder to:

slow down.
nourish.
listen to our bodies.
learn our wombs.
pass that knowledge to our daughters.

Each woman and girl wrapped will receive a Dawa womb wrap, carrying bag, Womb Wellness Companion Guide and hands on guidance for beginning her own womb wellness practice.

This is a community powered project.

Your contribution helps us provide these wraps and wellness tools at no cost to women and girls on September 6.

Come see us. Bring your daughter. Bring your sister. Bring your mother.

Let’s raise a generation of girls who know how to nourish themselves.
