About the event
DAWA Maternal Nutrition Training is designed to provide black and brown birth workers, educators, and maternal health providers with the wisdom, support, and confidence needed to redefine their wellness through food education. (If you do not identify as BIPOC but your work is centered around BIPOC, we ask that you still apply for the training)
During this transformational training we will learn:
- Foods for a healthy pregnancy, birth, and postpartum
- How to grow, harvest, and preserve your own food
- How to prepare nourishing meals
- Using plant medicine for optimal wellness
- How to rebuild our healing communities through food
- Leadership and advocacy skills and much more!
Through this training, our vision is to:
- Reduce maternal and infant mortality and morbidity
- Reduce food insecurity
- Reduce the prevalence of chronic illness and food related diseases
- Increase the amount of families who are well nourished
Each training cohort will emerge food wellness leaders who heal themselves and their families to reestablish generational health.
